Biogas, Composting & Recycling Plant

EPS biotechnology facilities allow for thermophilic anaerobic digestion and processing of organic materials and wastes – all at one site.

Since 2008, EPS biotechnology operates its own-built biogas plant (4000 m3 fermenter) for the production of electricity and heat. Moreover, the facility allows for R&D project applications, e.g. for the investigation of novel bio-based feedstock processing (link to the EPS-DESDEN site) and/or new value chains development.

Adjacent to the biogas plant, bio-based materials processing and composting area is available (annual capacity 7 500 t). Together with the waste recycling slots present at the same grounds (annual capacity 20 000 t), the facility offers excellent conditions for bio-based materials processing, R&D investigations, or environmentally safe disposal thereof.
